Several lines of strong to severe thunderstorms moved across southern Wisconsin throughout the day on October 1st into the early morning hours of October 2nd. The heavy rain and thunderstorms were associated with the passage of a slow moving cold front. Straight-line wind damage was noted across Lafayette county into southern Dane county, while two tornadoes occurred in eastern Jefferson and western Waukesha counties.
