Strong northerly winds as high as 45 mph produced waves as high as 11 feet along the Lake Michigan shore of northeast Illinois. These high waves combined with high lake levels produced flooding, erosion and damage. In Lake County, 10 to 20 feet of beach was lost through erosion in parts of Illinois Beach State Park. Beach erosion at the Waukegan Municipal Beach and Dunes exposed tree roots. Boat and dock damage was reported at the Naval Station, Great Lakes. Beach erosion caused parking lot
