The James River remained above flood stage throughout December across Brown and into Spink county. The river was approaching or broke the record for the number of days continuously above flood stage at Columbia, Stratford, and Ashton. At the end of December, Columbia broke it's record by seven days being continuously above flood stage for 273 days. Ashton was just one day off the record by the end of December with 274 days above flood stage. Stratford was 24 days shy of the record with 272 days
