Above normal moisture in response to multiple disturbances over the region led to numerous rounds of rain across eastern Kentucky. Many creeks and streams rose out of its banks leading to adjacent roads near the water bodies to be closed. The Ohio River rose out its banks for over 24 hours, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying areas due to backwater.
