A persistent large upper level trough over the southwest U.S. ejected many upper level disturbances that interacted with weak surface boundaries and deep moisture over the region. On the 19th, strong storms and heavy rainfall occurred. Many flash flood reports were received as soils were saturated from earlier rainfall. A few storms produced damaging wind gusts over south central Missouri.
