Showers and thunderstorms repeated dropped heavy rainfall across far northwest Alabama and adjacent sections of southwest Tennessee. Rainfall amounts of 1.5-3 inches fell in these areas during the early morning hours of the 23rd. This all fell on already saturated ground, and caused several small creeks and streams to flood. Lauderdale County EMA relayed several reports of flash flooding in their county, which prompted the closure of several roads and a few bridges.
