An upper level disturbance perusing through the middle Ohio Valley inflicted rounds of showers and thunderstorms across West Virginia on the afternoon of the 14th. Localized areas received more than 4 inches of rain in a short amount of time in the southeast portions of the state, leading to flooding and swift water rescues.
