Scattered severe thunderstorms moved across parts of northern Illinois during the late evening of May 14th. Additional thunderstorms produced heavy rain and localized flash flooding during the late evening of May 14th into the morning of May 15th. Some of the highest 48 hour rainfall totals ending Friday morning May 15th included: 4.75 inches near Sycamore; 4.71 inches near Park Ridge; 4.69 inches in St. Charles; 4.61 inches two miles west of Elgin; 4.35 inches in De Kalb; 4.26 inches at Chica
