Thunderstorms developed during the early evening hours in the Nebraska Panhandle along an approaching cold front. As storms tracked east they became more widespread in nature. Large hail up to the size of tennis balls, and a measured wind gust of 86 MPH was reported at Broken Bow. Heavy rain early in the morning on the 24th, led to flash flooding north of Broken Bow.
