A slow moving warm front lifted across the middle Ohio River Valley and central Appalachians on the 30th. Additional support was provided by several mid level shortwave troughs and a weak surface low. A high moisture atmosphere was in place, and slow moving showers and storms produced very heavy rainfall through the afternoon and evening.
