Southwesterly flow and associated shortwave energy streaming ahead of a Pacific Northwest trough brought thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusty winds to Southwest and portions of Central/North-central Montana on Thursday July 23rd. Abundant moisture was transported into state as precipitable water values exceeded the one inch mark at times.
