An upper trough was over the region with north to northwest upper level flow over the local area and weak shortwave troughs rotating overhead. This energy provided enhanced |lift for diurnally enhanced sea breeze storm that formed along the more dominant west coast sea breeze. Deep tropical moisture was in place with precipitable water values near record values in the 2.0-2.4 inch range. These ingredients produced a few strong storms with localized flooding rainfall.
