Multiple rounds of rainfall on the 31st were the result of a weak disturbance passing through in the morning, followed by a warm front pressing northward through southwest Virginia that evening. Showers and thunderstorms associated with the warm front caused impassable roadways across several towns in Buchanan County. A weather station in the town of Stacy reported over three inches of rain had fallen within a two hour period.
