With the influence of daytime heating, scattered to numerous thunderstorms developed ahead of an upper-level disturbance moving east along the eastern Kansas and Oklahoma border. The organization of the storms was aided by a weak surface boundary in the vicinity of the Missouri and Arkansas border.
