Flash Flood — Crawford, IL

A slow-moving frontal boundary triggered a couple bands of showers and thunderstorms across southeast Illinois from late morning through mid-afternoon of August 3rd. The heaviest rainfall of 2 to 5 inches occurred from near Flora in Clay County northeastward to Robinson in Crawford County...with an observer in Robinson measuring 4.65. Due to excessive rainfall rates, flash flooding developed in both communities.
