Clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms developed during the early to mid afternoon hours. One of the storms resulted in wind damage. Excessive rain in northwest Alabama led to a few reports of flash flooding. In addition, before the thunderstorms developed, a funnel cloud descended from a building shower near the southern portion of Lake Guntersville in Marshall County. Multiple photos of the funnel were shared via social media.
