A band of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms lifted northward through north Alabama during the morning into early afternoon hours. Intense rainfall rates resulted in brief flooding of some roads in Madison and Decatur. Rainfall of 2-3 inches were reported in under an hour in a few locations. A daily record rainfall was reached at the Huntsville International Airport. A CoCoRaHs observer measured 4.07 inches in eastern Limestone County in the town of Madison.
