Surface high pressure centered over the Appalachians gradually weakened and shifted southward which relaxed the pressure gradient over the region and weakened the strong |northeasterly wind event into the evening. Breezy northeasterly winds continued along the coast with gusts up to 30-35 mph. Coastal hazards including coastal flooding, high surf, and high risk of rip currents continued.
