Long period swells generated by Hurricane Delta over the northwest Gulf of Mexico impacted the coastal regions of the Middle Texas coast from the evening of October 8th until the morning of October 10th. The higher swells produced elevated tide levels along the Middle Texas coast with tides ranging from 2 to 4 feet above mean sea level. The higher tides produced flooding of beach access roads along the Middle Texas coast. The higher tides flooded low lying areas and roads near the inland bays.

A slow moving surface to mid level low pressure system developed over the Coastal Bend of south Texas on July 6th. This was the start of a multi-day heavy rain event across the Coastal Bend as the low pressure system remained nearly stationary through the 8th of July.
