A strong and occluded low pressure system moved through the state on Thursday, March the 18th. Deep moisture and steep lapse rates set the stage for convection during the afternoon. With freezing levels being very low, these storms were able to create copious amounts of hail in addition to torrential rainfall and excessive lightning.
