After morning thunderstorms shifted southeast of the area, a second large complex of thunderstorms redeveloped over Mississippi during the late morning and early afternoon hours. This complex shifted east into Alabama during the mid to late afternoon hours, exiting northeast Alabama during the early evening hours.
