Excessive heavy rainfall developed across southwest Arkansas during the overnight and pre dawn hours of May 14th. This rainfall developed due to a very moist airmass in place across the Lower Mississippi Valley and a slow moving upper level low pressure system that moved eastward into the region from Texas.
