Numerous showers and thunderstorms, many of which had heavy rain, developed in a moist and unstable environment across central NC. A series of thunderstorms developed over Davidson and Randolph Counties with multiple rounds of heavy rain that produced radar estimates of 2 to 5 inches of rain. Flash flooding was reported in eastern Davidson and western and central Randolph County with several roads closed.
