Scattered thunderstorms developed across the lower Mid-Atlantic during the afternoon and evening of June 10th, forming in an environment of strong afternoon heating in a moist atmosphere. Storm Prediction Center Mesoanalysis indicated surface-based CAPE values as high as 2500 J/Kg at the onset of thunderstorm activity, while Precipitable Water values in the area were about 2.0 inches.
