The remnants of a mesoscale convective system became the focus for thunderstorm development over Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi Sound. As this feature drifted northward with weak onshore flow, a line of persistent thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall which led to flash flooding over St. Tammany Parish.
