Thunderstorms moved southeast into west central Arkansas during the morning of the 16th. Unusually high amounts of moisture in the atmosphere resulted in efficient rain-producing thunderstorms that produced locally heavy rainfall. Some flash flooding occurred as a result of the heavy rainfall.
