A quasi-stationary upper level trough centered across the central Mississippi valley remained in place as a large omega block upstream across the western conus, and a Bermuda upper level ridge worked together to keep the large scale flow pattern rather stagnant. Heavy rainfall occurred across the Florida panhandle and resulted in areas of flooding.
