A warm frontal boundary lifted north across Iowa during the day on the 25th and was located over northern Iowa by the evening hours. The airmass became very unstable to the south of the front as surface temperatures warmed into the 85 to 90 degree range, and dewpoints rose into the low to mid 70s.
