Showers and thunderstorms developed during the afternoon along a west-to-east oriented frontal boundary along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Instability generated CAPE values of around 1500 J/kg along and just south of the frontal boundary. Bulk shear was ample enough to support organized and even rotating updrafts.
