Thunderstorms with heavy rain developed between 2 AM and 4 AM in an area of stronger convergence off Lake Erie in southern Erie County. Automated gauges from weather underground were helpful to get ground truth rainfall reports. Repeated heavy rain resulted in flash flooding in the Southern Tier. Multiple road closures were reported.
