A wet pattern at the beginning of the month resulted in multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms across the Florida panhandle. The ground was already saturated from previous above average rainfall, and the result was numerous areas of flash flooding. The Panama City area was hit particularly hard during the early morning hours of October 7th with very heavy rainfall rates leading to considerable flash flooding with numerous roads impassible.
