An upper level closed low meandered through the Great Lakes while slowly phasing with an Atlantic Nor'easter. Convergence along an inverted trough coincided with a strong push of Atlantic moisture to force periods of heavy rainfall south of Lake Ontario from Rochester eastward through the latter half of the day.
