After heavy thunderstorm rains pounded the region and flooded the Cheat River, a tributary of the Monongahela River. The Monongahela River also flooded along part of its stretch. The river crested between 1 and 1.5 feet above flood stage at Lock 4 Charleroi and Lock 3 Elizabeth.
