There was some flooding of the Cispus and Cowlitz rivers. Forest Service Road 23 suffered extensive washouts at mileposts 12.5 and 24. As a result the popular road is currently closed at mileposts 11 and 25.

An upper level low pressure system over western Oregon ejected a negatively tilted shortwave trough of lower pressure over the region during the evening hours of September 5th. Precipitable water values were twice the normal value for early September.

An atmospheric river brought heavy rains to the Cascades December 8 through 10. The East slopes saw 48 hour rain amounts of up to 7 inches along the crest, 3 to 4 inches in the mid slopes, and at least half an inch in the low land areas.

Very heavy rain fell near Vantage along interstate 90. This resulted in water, mud, rocks, and debris running down the sides of Ryegrass Coulee and onto the shoulders of eastbound lanes on interstate 90 at several places about three miles west of Vantage.
