Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall resulted in flooding across portions of the Big Country. Also, localized flash flooding was reported on June 11th.

Flood — May 31, 2021

A slow moving cold front interacted with a very warm and moist airmass across the region and produced very heavy rainfall mainly along and north of I20. About 2 to 4 inches fell mainly along and north of a line from Sterling City to Brownwood and flooded several roads across the region.

Tropical Depression — Aug 16, 2007

The remnants of Tropical Depression Erin slowly moved through West Central Texas, dropping around 3 to 7 inches of rain across a large portion of the area. Over 9 inches of rain fell near the small town of Roby, TX and rural areas of southeastern Crockett County. Flash Flood — Jul 2, 2007

Saturated grounds from previous rainfall and very heavy rains combined to produce isolated flash flooding across the Big Country on July 2nd.

Flash Flood — Aug 2, 2007

Heavy rainfall from a weak surface front and an upper level disturbance, combined with already saturated soil from an unusually wet summer led to flash flooding across portions of the Texas Big Country. The flash flooding washed out several roads and entered approximately 10 homes near Potosi.
