A mid/upper level low pressure area over the eastern Gulf of Mexico helped to draw high moisture levels across South Florida. Light winds and the formation of sea breezes helped to focus numerous showers and thunderstorms over the interior and eastern parts of South Florida, causing gusty thunderstorm winds, hail, and flooding over parts of the area.
