A low pressure center was parked over the northern half of Indiana throughout much of the day on the 17th, with points to the south, including KY, exhibiting a warming and moistening trend throughout the day. Scattered showers and storms were present across Kentucky and surrounding areas throughout the afternoon and evening. A couple of these storms ended up resulting in several downed trees.
