Abundant moisture combined with terrain features allowed for isolated thunderstorms capable of producing locally heavy rainfall to developed across parts of southern Gila County during the late afternoon and early evening hours on the 30th. One of these thunderstorms developed over the Globe area with radar estimates showing rainfall amounts in excess of 1 inch in a short amount of time. As a result, flash flooding occurred in Pinal Creek, making a downstream low water crossing impassable.
