A cold front laid along the lower Ohio Valley on the afternoon of August 10th and resulted in diurnally driven showers and thunderstorms. The combination of slow moving and repetitive storms making their way through eastern Kentucky, an area that had been slammed with rain the day before, led to instances of flash flooding in Boyd and Lawrence Counties.
