Two very slow-moving areas of thunderstorms crossed western Kentucky during the overnight hours into the early morning hours. These storms dumped up to 5 inches of rain in about 6 hours. Isolated pockets of flash flooding occurred with these excessive rain totals. The storms were associated with a weak cold front that extended from Lake Michigan south into the lower Ohio Valley.
