A stalled front across Pitt County on the evening of July 14th allowed multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms to move over the same area during the evening. With a very moist atmosphere in place, localized heavy rain over the City of Greenville caused flash flooding throughout the city. Multiple water rescues occurred due to cars stranded in water. The hardest hit area was Downtown Greenville.
