Thunderstorms early in the morning on the 25th kept conditions relatively stable on the afternoon of the 25th which prevented thunderstorms from developing over the region. However, another round of thunderstorms did develop across the higher terrain of northeast New Mexico and moved to the southeast across the South Plains early in the morning on the 26th.
