Flood — Dundy, NE

May 17, 2023

In the late afternoon a slow moving, heavy rain producing storm was moving southeast across southwestern Nebraska. Although there was primarily one section on the southwest end of this line of storms, the rain to the northwest likely assisted in creating a flood ripe environment, as this is downstream of the creeks and rivers. Flooding along the Republican River was reported to cover miles of train tracks, causing the train to be shutdown. Around 1 to 1.5 inches of rain fell from this event.
