A slow moving, upper level low, situated over Colorado, led to the development of thunderstorms across the high plains of eastern Colorado, western Kansas and western Nebraska during the afternoon and evening hours of May 11th. Thunderstorms, some severe with strong wind gusts, and heavy rain was reported over a large portion of western and southwestern Nebraska. Thunderstorm wind gusts to 60 MPH in the Valentine and Imperial areas, along with flash flooding in Sheridan County was reported.
