A severe thunderstorm rapidly strengthened during the early morning hours, producing hail up to the size of golf balls and damaging winds from 70 to 80 mph. During the mid-morning hours, a cluster of severe thunderstorms evolved into a thunderstorm complex that produced mainly damaging winds. The severe weather reports were concentrated mainly east of a line from Princeton to Evansville, including the eastern Evansville metro area.
