A few showers and thunderstorms developed within the warm sector of a low pressure system across eastern New York during the afternoon and evening hours on August 12, 2023. Most of the activity was located across the mid-Hudson Valley (Ulster and Dutchess counties) where thunderstorms produced several instances of wind damage and some large hail.
