A cluster of severe thunderstorms formed over northwest Kentucky and the Pennyrile region during the late evening hours. These storms produced numerous reports of large hail and a couple of marginally severe wind gusts. The storms developed near and south of a warm front that extended eastward across the lower Ohio Valley from weak low pressure over southwest Illinois.
