A strong coastal 984 mb low pressure system caused fresh water and coastal flooding to areas along and east of I-95. 2 to 4 inches of rain were reported across the region causing moderate fresh water flooding across the area and raised water levels up to 2 ft above ground causing moderate coastal flooding at Annapolis and Straits Point. This system also set new record low pressure readings across the Carolinas and produced storm to hurricane force winds offshore.
