A strong storm system brought gusty winds, heavy rainfall, river flooding and a light accumulation of high elevation wet snow to northwestern Connecticut from the afternoon hours on January 9 into the early morning hours on January 10, 2024. The main impact from this system was the heavy rainfall as widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain fell across Litchfield County. This resulted in flooding along the Still and Housatonic rivers with moderate to major flooding occurring along portions of the river.
