A frontal boundary stalled over Northern Florida brought a warm and moist airmass over South Florida, which combined with ample lift from a mid-level shortwave to develop scattered showers and thunderstorms over the east coast metro during the afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms became severe, leading to damaging wind gusts and large hail, as well as localized flooding.
